I loved your, "Because we are too many and yet not enough." My own, because, "And then he created the jerks." I have been reading Cornelius Tacitus. Humanity has come a lot further than we are told to think. "We were allowed to witness the battle. More than 60,000 were killed, not by Roman swords or javelins, but - more splendid still - as a spectacle before our delighted eyes." This is in Tacitus' "Germania."
Thanks Nora…✨ I love the way hope breaks through the clouds after the storm, it’s what I was trying to convey with the words and the photo, thank you for reading, for understanding and for sharing. Appreciated as always…be well, love Sea 🙏😊😘
Perfect, Sea! Strong sure images, the repetition, and the hope and possibility! Reading this just after hearing the news of Musk becoming a trillionaire and thinking, oh I have to write something about that. But you have and so completely, I’ll just write “Amen!”
I found myself lingering on that repeated “because.” At some point it stops feeling like protest and starts feeling like a way of keeping the heart open.
Because…oh my goodness, this poem just stopped me in my tracks. Thank you for naming all the utterly appalling things that HE and others of his ilk are doing to OUR world. I don’t know what the answer is but this felt like such sweet resistance 🙏❤️
"We still find time to smile though the world be ending." simply beautiful, that's the only thing we will have left right? A presto!

Your words are brilliant and dance over something so serious, yet really evocative and humorous. Love!
