Whirling…

full force behind the blow.

She thrust the four inch steel Spike through his left eyeball.

Transmission of outrage direct to the brain.

“There’s your receipts, Bastard!”

He flopped inert like codfish 

waiting for the costermonger’s care.

An occasional twitch, switched nerves 

down into neutral.


Swung…

him round in his chair.

Fed his poisonous hand into the shredder.

Alongside the hate letters

he’d found vicarious pleasure in sending her.

Ruby red treasure, now measured in cc ‘s 

of flesh, bone and plasma.

His fleshy lipped mouth formed a perfect ‘Oh’ of surprise.

A tug on his ears pulled his shocked face into focus.

She kissed it greedily, spun speedily on her heel,

descended the dark hallway out onto the street.

Wiped the gore from her lips with the back of her hand.

And with blood stained fingers flagged down her cab.
