I was thinking on my stepmother’s life
English, very middle class, correctly brought up by her parents to be ‘the perfect young lady’.
She fell for my father, very charming working class, cheating bastard, that he was.
Thanks Rea✨She was asked once by Tom Jones at the bar after his gig if she wanted a kiss. Him in his arrogance expecting her to say yes. She very politely told him to fuck off…she was a feisty package 😁😂😊
This is so raw and honest. The way you capture the quiet pressures and expectations of that era, and the cost it took on women, really resonates. I’m glad your stepmother found her freedom and some peace in the end. Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks Sunshine✨I was young watched it all and I guess took notes, it certainly stayed with me.
but she too was young and had to endure it all and in those times there was little support or escape.
Her character was forged in what turned out to be a mistake on her part. I’m glad she got to meet someone better to love, she surely deserved to find happiness. Thanks for reading and commenting, means a lot to get feedback 😘Sea
The glitter-ball line gives this a nice strange sparkle.
Yeah I liked that too, just sorta popped up from nowhere, weird huh?

Thanks Mark ✨ and thank you for sharing 🙏😘😊
The cadence of this one — swift, sure strokes — bring her to life. Bravo, Sea!

And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day."

Well written!
